Shape Your Mind is a Sydney-based psychology practice specialising in eating disorders, body concerns, and related issues. When Olivia approached me, the existing practice website (which had been built on WordPress.com) had corrupted files and was no longer functional. She needed a new website quickly that would create a sense of calm for vulnerable visitors while clearly presenting information for both new and existing clients.
The Brief
For a psychology practice specialising in sensitive issues like eating disorders, the website needed to immediately convey safety and professionalism. Olivia wanted a calming aesthetic with easy navigation and clear information about services, the team, and how to get in touch. Given the nature of the practice, it was crucial that visitors could quickly find what they needed without feeling overwhelmed.
The Solution
I rebuilt the site on WordPress.org (self-hosted), which provided greater flexibility, control, and reliability for the practice’s needs. (You can read more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.) The site features:
- Peaceful hero imagery with the message “Shape Your Mind… Change Your Life!”
- Clear presentation of psychological therapy and dietetic support services
- Team page introducing the practitioners
- FAQ section addressing common concerns
- Easy contact and booking information
- Room for growth as the practice expands
The design prioritises simplicity and calm, ensuring visitors feel at ease while finding the support they need.
Ongoing Partnership
This has become a long-term relationship since September 2021, with Olivia now on a Website Care Plan. Over the years, we’ve regularly updated team member information as practitioners come and go, and added a rooms for rent page as the practice has grown and evolved.
The Results
