Willow Wood Property

Website design for holiday apartments on the Isle of Bute with integrated booking system.

Willow Wood Property offers design-led holiday apartments on the Isle of Bute in Rothesay, Scotland. Founded by Cat after 15 years hosting guests in Queenstown, New Zealand, and managed by Hayley with her luxury travel background, they needed a website that could reflect their unique approach: vintage-inspired interiors, thoughtful amenities, and genuine island hospitality that goes beyond standard vacation rentals.

The Brief

Cat wanted a website that would communicate the character and care behind their properties – this wasn’t just about booking accommodation, but about discovering a slower, more thoughtful way to experience the Isle of Bute. The site needed to showcase their two distinct properties (Port B and Bishop Street), share their story and local expertise, and handle bookings seamlessly while maintaining that warm, personal touch.

The Solution

I created a sophisticated yet welcoming design that balances aspiration with accessibility. The site features:

  • Large, atmospheric hero imagery that immediately transports visitors to the island
  • Clean, spacious layouts that let the beautiful property photography breathe
  • Individual property pages highlighting the unique character of each apartment
  • “Explore the Isle of Bute” section featuring local recommendations (Mount Stuart House, Bonnie Bling, The Sulking Room, Scalpsie Beach)
  • Prominent “Why Stay With Us?” section emphasising their differentiators: vintage character, thoughtful amenities, insider tips, and dog-friendly options
  • About page telling Cat and Hayley’s story – from Queenstown to Rothesay
  • Strong, consistent calls-to-action encouraging bookings

On the technical side, I implemented a complex booking system that syncs with their existing booking platforms, maintains real-time calendar availability across channels, and sends automated email notifications to both guests and property managers – ensuring smooth operations behind the beautiful design.

The warm, earthy colour palette and refined typography reflect the vintage-meets-modern aesthetic of the properties themselves, positioning Willow Wood Property as a boutique alternative to standard holiday lettings.

The Results

The website successfully communicates what sets Willow Wood Property apart in the crowded vacation rental market: genuine hospitality, thoughtful design, and a deep connection to place. The integrated booking system streamlines operations while guests can explore properties, discover local favorites, and understand the care behind every detail before they even arrive.
