GeekPack®

Complex website build for a women's tech education platform, featuring custom-coded design elements for WordPress training community.

In 2022, GeekPack was ready for a website that matched the scale and ambition of their mission. They needed a site that could showcase their flagship WP Rockstar course, communicate their values of empowerment and community, and serve as a hub for thousands of women learning to build WordPress businesses. The site needed to be as polished and professional as the businesses their students were creating.

The Collaboration

This project involved close collaboration with a graphic designer who created the visual concepts and design elements. My role was to bring those designs to life through development, which involved complex custom coding to achieve the designer’s vision. The site featured sophisticated design elements that required technical expertise beyond standard WordPress themes or page builders.

The Solution

Working from the graphic designer’s concepts, I developed a comprehensive website with:

  • Custom-coded design elements to achieve the designer’s creative vision
  • Complex layouts and interactions requiring advanced development skills
  • Clear presentation of the WP Rockstar course and GeekPack’s mission
  • Professional, polished design reflecting the quality of their training
  • Scalable architecture to support their growing community

The technical complexity of the build required problem-solving and custom code development to faithfully execute the design while maintaining performance and usability.

Evolution

Since launching in 2022, GeekPack has significantly evolved and pivoted their business model. The current website no longer reflects the original design and features, as the organisation has expanded beyond WordPress training into broader tech education initiatives including The GeekPack Collective and various other programmes serving their 60,000+ member community.

The Results

At launch, GeekPack had a professional, sophisticated website that honoured the thousands of women who had built businesses through their training.
